3D art is becoming increasingly relevant in casino game development, but creating assets for a browser-based game requires a very different approach from producing assets for offline rendering.
At CGS, we have developed a web-friendly 3D production pipeline that takes assets from narrative and concept design through modeling, texturing, animation and optimization. Depending on the game, assets can follow different production paths, allowing us to choose the right balance between visual quality, performance and production efficiency.
The final output is shaped by the technical requirements of browser-based casino games. Rather than treating 3D as a single format, we can use the same production pipeline to create different types of game assets depending on the needs of the project:
3D assets can be rendered directly in the browser. This enables depth, dynamic camera movement, lighting and real-time animation while keeping models and textures optimized for HTML5 performance.
3D models serve as the source for traditional 2D game animation. We render the required animation sequences from the 3D assets and convert them into sprites or other 2D formats, combining the flexibility of 3D production with the performance and established workflows of classic 2D casino games.
AI can significantly accelerate several stages of the production process, particularly during high-poly modeling, texturing and the creation of detailed surface information.
High-poly assets can then be processed into optimized low-poly versions, with information baked into the final models.
At the same time, key technical stages remain under manual control, including retopology, UV preparation, cleanup, rigging, skinning and animation. This combination allows us to use AI where it provides a genuine production advantage while maintaining the precision and consistency required for game-ready assets.
